Meet Blaise
Blaise is the son of Jason and Jaycee and a sweet little brother to his sister Ella. Blaise’s bout with cancer began at the age of 8 when around Thanksgiving 2021 he began to have episodes of nausea and vomiting. A serious event accompanied by slurred speech and a lack of motor function landed him at the ER in Tulsa. An MRI revealed he had a golf ball sized tumor in his brain. On December 15th, 2021 he was diagnosed with an aggressive type of brain cancer – subgroup 3 medulloblastoma.
Two days later, Blaise had emergency brain surgery on his cerebellum (the part that controls his balance and coordination) and subsequently spent 10 days in the hospital. In early 2022, he spent 6 weeks at OU Children’s Hospital in OKC where he received daily chemotherapy along with proton radiation treatments at Oklahoma Proton Center. He also did physical therapy to help him regain his balance and coordination. His treatment in OKC was followed by 6 months of maintenance chemo at the St. Jude affiliate clinic at the Children’s Hospital at St. Francis (Tulsa). He finished his treatment protocol in October 2022 and was monitored with MRI scans of his brain and spine every 3 months.
In November 2023, a routine MRI revealed that the brain cancer had relapsed and Blaise had 3 small brain tumors. This January, Blaise began a regimen of oral chemotherapies for relapsed cancer and his family will start researching clinical trials to see what other treatments might be helpful in reaching remission.
Blaise loves all things space and chemistry related. He wants to be a NASA astronaut and fly to space in the future. He enjoys traveling, going to science museums, and learning everything he can by watching YouTube videos. He wants to study aerospace at Purdue University to follow in the footsteps of many former NASA astronauts including Neil Armstrong.
Blaise has been an inspiration to so many people during this journey. Doctors, nurses, patients, family members, friends, and on-lookers from around the world have been amazed at how he has handled every treatment and procedure with courage, confidence, and a smile.

The Cowboys vs. Cancer Cowboy Classic is dedicated to the memory of Matt Allen, an OSU graduate who died in 2013 at the age of 46 from brain cancer. Allen’s remarkable fight against the disease and his commitment to raise funds for the Cowboys vs. Cancer program in his final years is the inspiration for the CvC Cowboy Classic Golf Tournament.
The Matt Allen Superman Award may be given out in honor someone or in memory of someone in the fight against cancer.
